Romans 10.9-10 is the gospel in its most basic form
Romans 10.4 Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes. Christ is the goal and the fulfillment of the law. The idea that people can get right with God by keeping the law has been terminated. The law cannot save you. Paul has explained this many different ways throughout the book of Romans.
The law does not bring salvation (3.20)
The law reveals sin (3.20)
The law condemns us (3.19)
The law brings wrath (4.15)
The law was added so that the trespass might increase (5.20)
We are justified by faith apart from the law (3.28)
We are not under law we are under grace (6.14)
We died to the law (7.4)
We are released from the law (7.6)
The law was powerless to save us (8.3)
Christ is the end of the law (10.4)
We are not saved by keeping rules and regulations. The gospel is not a list of dos and donts. Paul says in 10.6-7 that Jesus died on the cross and rose from the grave and that is the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Jesus has completed all the work necessary for our salvation at the cross and God raised him from the dead. And now, God wants you to believe it in your heart and confess it with your mouth. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Romans 10.9-10 is the gospel in its most basic form.

I like the way you wrestle with the concept. Good work.
